Traditional lighting fails at different times, resulting in uneven replacements. Both Metal Halide and High Pressure Sodium lamps loose 30% of their initial lumens in the first year; creating an area with varying color temperatures and hot spots. Metal Halide lamps give off bluer light as they age and High Pressure Sodium lamps always give off yellow light.
